Thanks, I knew that... I tried it with and without a separate gal
installation, and I tried CVS checkouts from before and after gal was
merged into Evolution on 6/17, none of it worked.  AFAICT HEAD has not
compiled for at least two weeks.

Maybe some generated files are getting in the way.  Shouldn't it be
enough to "cvs update -D some-date" and then run "make" again, or do I
have to run "make clean"?
