This error message was due to ximian connector. I re-installed it and
then got an error message about connector not being activated. I used
this command to unistall connector:
rpm -e ximian-connector
This solved the problem I no longer get an error message when I start evolution.
I also noticed that the original issue that made me obsessive is not solved. I'll quote from my original post:
I upgraded to evolution 1.4. I have a slight problem adding contacts to the address book.
When I right-click an email address and the "add to contacts" popup appears it either times
out and disappears "while querying address book" or when I click "add to contacts" the pop-up
closes without adding.
I'm curious to know if I'm the only one having this problem with 1.4.4? If anybody has an ideas regarding a solution, I'd appreciate the input.
ALSO...Thank you Adam and Guenther for your input! I appreciate it! :-)

Well, seems to be the Ximian Connector, is it?
Dunno, but the name suggests it. And I do not have this file, which is
even stronger indication. ;)
