I don't think it's a bug.  AFAIK, the concept of LDAP is that it is a
searchable database, not a browseable one - plus you have to consider
that it is a network resource and in many cases contains 1000's of
records.  That's why no LDAP clients that I know of do a wildcard search
as the default view, and all have a limit on the number of records that
are retrieved per search (even if the search is a wildcard).
