Debian packages install in /usr. I rolled my own in /usr/local. The
Evolution build errored out on a /usr/lib/libebook.so (the Debian
version) which for some reason was a very old link. I blew it away and
linked it to /usr/local/lib/libebook.so.8.0.5 and compiling completed
successfully. The resulting binary comes up as a largely blank window
with only a Send/Receive button (no mailer). The Debian
version, /usr/bin/evolution-2.0 *fires* up normally, *prompts* me for a
password and *displays* my folders on the IMAP server. Not only that,
but the contents of my Outbox were delivered to my SMTP server.
I realize at the beginning of this I asked how to interrupt the
(hanging) migration procedure; now I'd like to migrate my contacts.
Thanks,
Mike
