Yes - that is why I wrote that I have no idea whether it is technically
possible at all... Maybe yes, maybe no, I do not know the code of either of
the technology, unfortunately. But I do think it would be worth evaluating.

I believe/hope that as long as there would be no change for the 'just KDE' or
the 'just Gnome' programmers, the politics could be left aside ;-)
