There are a number of issues upstream that appear vaguely related. For
example 14581, 15661, 16768, 22013, 24970, 31057...

A review of those suggests one thing to look for could be a compiler
problem, which might be revealed if you build cppuhelper without
optimisation (build with debug=t).
