In KDE, OOo should set the font according to the KDE settings.

Please, may I have a screenshot of your desktop showing the misbehavior, 
output of xdpyinfo, version of your KDE, and version of your fontconfig?

Please send it just to my address, others are probably not interested in 
these ;-)
