On Mandriva it is like this:

/usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj -> /etc/alternatives/java_sdk_gcj
/etc/alternatives/java_sdk_gcj -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-gcj
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-gcj -> java-1.4.2-gcj-1.4.2.0
