[Mono-dev] System.NullReferenceException, what does it mean?

I have a windows forms application working in .NET. I've compiled under
mono, and tried debugging. Unfortunately, mdb doesn't work on it. (list
does not work).

So, I removed the "try{}catch{}" to see if the web page fetch was the
problem, and it was.

What is this error message telling me? The code works without error in

Ubuntu breezy, 1.1.13_4 mono, latest updates on ubuntu.
